Certain countries are more well-known for porn than others, such as Russia, the USA and Japan, but other countries seem to have dipped under the radar. There was a previous thread on here on a similar subject but I thought I'd like to delve into the UK, where I come from. Quite frankly I'm not sure why Britain hasn't had so little impact on porn from what I have seen. There are a few studios like www.britstudio.xxx and having a look on Pornhub reveals a few more like UK Porn Party and Wank It Now, but all of these seem to be low-budget operations with nowhere near the same subscriber counts as their American counterparts. I can't seem to figure out why though - we have good looking men and women, we certainly watch a lot of porn, so why is there so little British porn?
I suspect that despite much of American culture making its way to the UK there is still a lot of taboo about porn (at least when it comes to being in it). However I doubt that's a perfect explanation. On another note I've found that the people in British porn videos are generally more natural. Thinking of some of the more well-known US porn stars like Riley Reid or Emily Willis, they wear a lot of makeup and take great care about their appearance. That's compared to my general impression of British porn stars. BritStudio's premier model Olivia Keane is a good looking model without a doubt, but doesn't have the goddess-like appeal of some American stars, wearing little to no makeup and having noticeable body rolls. I'd even go as far as saying if I knew her in the real world I'd consider her in my league, which is either degrading or positive depending on your viewpoint. Now despite the points I described I still think she's very attractive and don't really mind anyway, but I imagine a lot of viewers would care, rightly or wrongly.
But hey, maybe I'll contribute and apply for BritStudio. Some of the male performers they have on there are far less attractive than even me and I have a few friends who studios like BritStudio would kill to have. Quite frankly if I had the money I'd sort out the British porn problem myself and start a serious competitor to US studios, but I do not have that money, nor do I have much of an idea of how to do it yet.

Well, there are or maybe several factors which maybe consonant and dissonant of production of porn in a particular country. First and foremost is appetite for it which seems to be insatiable 😉. And then the openness and willingness of people to be a part of it commercially. Some countries are just conservative and you see people with masks making low quality home videos on camera only. The government and culture itself makes it impossible for the options to flourish.
That cannot be said about Britain. Maybe the people are just growing out of it. Matured out of it. And US had not yet. Porn thrives in countries which abstain it citizens from accesing it. India Pakistan are prime examples. Countries which have widely open platforms and culture are just maybe growing out it. Shedding one extra layer of thier ultra liberal skins and evolving further.

An interesting opinion. I don't know where you're from, but what is it like where you live? I don't think Britain is growing out of it. On a technical level porn in the UK is at an all-time peak, but its current all-time peak is nowhere near the levels of other countries. A bit like Britain's largest mountain really.
Jokes aside, I suspect like you it's a cultural thing. It just isn't something we do to the scale of the USA. We do lots of things really well... There's only one Jaguar and Aston Martin, there are few countries with prettier train stations, our railways are really good despite the flack they get over here... But porn is something that isn't in the list of British things like it may be in the USA.

I am from India and though there are some upcoming production houses in Mumbai but largely the whole business has to be hidden from police and authorities because officially brothels, prostitution is illegal in India. There are unsuspecting raids on hotels and bribes paid to police regularly to keep the businesses running.
Few good ones that I can see on xvideos who do it overtly and passionately and audaciously are " Ronnysworld, Hottyculture, Niks Indian ". These are the one where you don't see hidden faces behind masks and shootings in shabby home locations.
As for USA, they like everything big. BIG Mac, jumbo popcorns. Although I like many aspects of that boisterous extravagant culture of freedom. I also love that thier porn is so defiant and Impertinent to traditional norms. They are experimenting so much so with ' free use girls ' concept and ' family strokes ' stuff which is exilerating and quite successful.
I don't dismay the British for not being so. Maybe that are just the way they are. British.

I reckon if the USA and UK were swapped the USA would be in a similar position to the UK now. In fact I think if the UK had an already established porn industry it would support itself like in the USA. Maybe one day I'll start my own studio. 😂

Ya certainly there could be space to start something new. That could be some one waiting to explore a new paradigm and dive new waters. Why not? If you got the right attitude. You should do it.
And then ofcourse people tend to follow and carry the culture ones you have icons and stars like American stars Ron Jeremy, Jenna Jameson and many more I don't know about.

I agree that the early American stars probably did popularise pornography. But while I find modern American stars are quite varied in body type and how they're portrayed, I find it interesting that British ones don't seem to be. I find that the way our stars are presented fetishises (No idea if that's the correct spelling) Britishness in the same way other countries do to the country in general - one that is traditional and oppressive in that tradition. To other countries Britain is no more than old buildings in London, cute villages in the hills and a perception of gentlemanliness (Again, I have no idea if that's the correct spelling). While I have generalised quite a bit, hopefully my point comes across.
Anyway, back to the porn stars. The female ones are often portrayed as matriarchal and scary, which would be fine if it wasn't the only portrayal I can find, or at least not the most common for professional studios. As usual, amateur channels do much better in this regard. Ironically one of our greatest assets for porn is the school uniform, being a popular fetish and one that is perfectly at home in the UK (and is commonly used by British porn studios), although it's one I can't really watch without feeling weirded out. To each their own I guess.
