Have you considered the possibility of offering members the option of purchasing individual sets?
MetArt offer an option to own/download individual sets. I think the price is $2.99 for each set.
If this could be arranged with the various sites they work with then EB could take a cut from each set sold. EB could store these sets for premium members and allow photos from these sets to be viewed individually in high resolution on EB/download theses sets directly from EB if required.
Maybe EB could also provide members using such a premium service with a facility to make albums of photos from their premium purchased sets on EB if they wanted to?
I'm not sure that anyone like EB offers this type of service yet (MetArt does as mentioned above) but it could provide users with a useful way to purchase/view/store sets that they like from individual sites without having to pay for a full months membership at the site.
Such a scheme could also be used to purchase individual videos as well.
EB - or any other site implementing such a program - would obviously probably have to invest in additional storage space to cater for members premium purchases.

A premium subscription is in the works (although IIRC a low priority at the moment) and as part of this there will be higher quality sets, but an iTunes-for-porn service like that could be good if the prices were reasonable. The 2.99 sets from MetArt a fine but they're the whole gallery; on here we only get 12-20 photos from any given shoot so a lower price would be needed. Maybe 0.99?

If a 50/50 share of sales for individual sets could be arranged with different websites (so that EB got 50% of sales) then I think $3.00 per set would be a fair price but I think this would need to be for the full set - not just a limited number of photos from each set.
The ability to store/unzip/access and organize these sets on EB itself would be an attractive feature. As would the ability to purchase a fixed amount of credit (eg.$12, $24, $48, $96 etc) which would decrease as individual sets were purchased.
